Time-limit for points refund from cheaters

Recently (several weeks ago) I reported a few cheaters after loses to them in rated games. They were not banned immediately but with a time justice prevailed. However, I did not receive those brilliant notifications and juicy rating points. I understand that policy, as every banned long-time cheater might boost the ratings of a lot of players. But I am just interested what is the limit of time to catch a bastard to get your rating points back?
I don't understand why you want points that were lost weeks ago back. Surely, if you're played some games since then, your rating would have stabilized back to what it should be?
#2, I second that. And also, this makes me think, there shall not be a time-limit, instead number of succeeding games played with other opponents shall count.

Note: If and when some people get extremely upset, then they can stop playing that variant (blitz, classical, whatever) up until their points are refunded.
I really think the idea of getting rating points back at all is a little silly, since ratings are supposed to be self-stabilizing?
#3, There is a separate issue in that, it shows lichess, with its cheater detecting algorithms, moderators etc. takes care of its good citizens and makes sure their rights are protected. At that point, its not about rating in the long run, its removing PESTS from your chess experience.
One needs not wonder whether or not the other side is cheating anymore. If they do, lichess will make sure your rating will be properly represented despite the fact that they cheated, while also taking other necessary steps. (Find that in another site? anyone?)

Combined with % game completion rate that takes care of people who let the time run out, you really can only focus on good chess.
Just play your best game and you will always learn from it. It does not matter if your opponent is a 3300 rated mosterious computer or a player just like you. Rating is just a progress chart were you can see your improvements. maybe a hick up here and there due to a cheater.

But the most importaint thing is that you learn and play at the same time. Facing a Cheater is interesetting as it puts your game to the test to the very best.
Dear #2-#8, thank you for interesting offtopic discussion, but that's not what I was asking for.

To #2 and similar posts, I repeat: "I understand that policy, as every banned long-time cheater might boost the ratings of a lot of players."

And the real question - "But I am just interested what is the limit of time to catch a bastard to get your rating points back?" - is still open.

Thank you!
