Becoming a lichess patron with creditcard gives me a "bad request" error

I'd like to support lichess by becoming a patron. I don't have paypal so I tried to pay with creditcard, but when I click the "creditcard" button I get an error. A message pops ups saying lichess.org says: Bad request.

Is this on me, my browsersettings or something along those lines? Or an error on lichess' side?
I have already tried it in different browsers (firefox & edge, also in incognito with all extensions turned off), and on my phone (firefox) as well, just to check. It gives the same error every time.

For me it redirects to stripe's website which handles CC payments, do you see any errors in your browser console?

A message pops up in my browser that reads "bad request", the only option I have is to click okay, and then it takes me back to the patron page, but now with the coloured loading circle spinning where the creditcard and paypal buttons used to be. Nothing else happens
