I just rediscovered this thread after posting in it a year ago (see comment #13). On Typeracer I can get 100 wpm somewhat consistently now.
First try (10 fast fingers):
97 WPM, Top 3 %
Keystrokes: (486 | 15) 501, Accuracy: 96.05%
Correct words: 94, Wrong words: 3
Second try:
97 WPM, Top 3 %
Keystrokes: (486 | 11) 497, Accuracy: 95.48%
Correct words: 90, Wrong words: 2
As to the statistics others posted, I'm surprised that the median score is as low as 38 wpm, and that 56 wpm is better than 80% of users.

where does it say the percentage? for me it only tells me the words per minutes.
It's not surprising at all, @Chessatom , because most people cannot touch type.
@phlegm You got me. I was typing the exact same word over and over as you can see my fingers hit the same 5 keys every time. It's fake.
